CITY MANAGER
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize ongoing custodial service expenses in the amount of $18,262.50 per year and $15,000
in improvements pursuant to a Cooperative Agreement and Amendment No. 1 between the
Orange County Transportation Authority, the County of Orange and the City for the public
restrooms at the Santa Ana Transit terminal.
DISCUSSION
The Orange County Transportation Authority owns the transit terminal in the city which is currently
vacant. That terminal building has restroom facilities that the County of Orange and the City agree
are needed in the Civic Center area.
A cooperative agreement between the three parties is currently in effect and provides for a maximum
of $15,000 in improvements to the facility to limit public access to the remainder of the building and
monthly maintenance expenses. It is likely that the aggregate amount of the agreement will exceed
the $25,000 limit this fiscal year which requires approval from the City Council. It is recommended
that the Council authorize these expenses and continue to provide public access to these restroom
facilities.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the agreement are budgeted in the City Manager's account for professional contract
services (accounting unit 01105015-62300).
