UI.SCUSSION The April 2007 - June 2007 quarterly status report for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Rental Assistance Program provides statistics for the day--to-day activities of the Santa Ana Housing Authority. The report is divided into three sections: Waiting List, Participants, and Production. Waiting List As of June 30, 2007, there w waiting list. The waiting list 30, 2004. Charts 1 and 2 depict on the waiting list. Chart 1 illustrates the Percentage of those on the waiting list who work or live in Santa Ana. The majority of families on the waiting list consist of only one or two members. Over half of all applicants (2,937 of 4,978; or 590) have one or two member households and would qualify for a one-bedroom voucher. Chart 3 illustrates participating families, sorted by number of family members. Over two-thirds (710) of families receiving assistance have three or fewer members. 3. "Other" consists of households that are non-elderly, non-disabled, with no minor children. Over half (56o} of participating households have elderly and/or disabled members. 4. As of June 2007, the County`s median income was $78,700. 5. Participant Characteristics lncome as Percent of Median Nearly two-thirds (65%} of families on the program earn less than 300 of the median income, which is $26,000 per year for a family of four. This payment is the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). The average HAP for April through June 2007 was $745 per unit. The total HAP paid in April through June was $5,478,840. Production HQS Inspections Each assisted unit must be inspected at least annually to ensure it meets the Housing Quality Standards (HQS) in compliance with federal guide- lines. From April to June, a total of 493 inspections were performed. In addition, when a participant's income changes, 300 an interim examination must be performed. During the 250 reporting period, a total of Zoo 1049 re-certifications/interiors were conducted. Sixty-three other change of unit actions were processed during the reporting period. The monthly average since July 2006 is 19 per month. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
