RECOMMENDATION: C. **END OF CONSENT CALENDAR** r PUBLIC HEARINGS Public hearings provide individuals the opportunity to be heard regarding an intended action of the Historic Resources Commission related to land use. i D. Commission Secretary Report Center Plaza on October 29, 2004 at 7:49 a.m. Instruct the Commission Secretary to enter into the minutes that pursuant to the Brown Act and the Maddy Act, the November 4, 2004 Agenda for the Regular Meeting was posted on the door of the City Hall Council Chambers at 22 Civic Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute an agreement with Carlos D. and Brandie L. Nava for the structure located at 1407 N. Towner Street. RECOMMENDATION: Recommend that the City Council direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Carlos D. and Brandie L. Nava for the structure located at 1407 N. Towner Street. BUSINESS CALENDAR Matters listed on the Business Calendar are general proposals for new legislation or items requiring discussion. COMMISSIONER COMMUNICATION DISCLOSURE {REGARDING AGENDIZED Commissioner Lutz will abstain from Item 1 (1225 N. French) as he drafted the plans. PROCEDURAL RULES HISTORIC EXTERIOR MODIFICATION APPLICATION NO. 2004-02 (Rally Soboleske) Filed by Wayne Curl to allow a portico addition to the side yard on the Davis Hoy House at 1225 North French Street that is listed on the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties. PUBLISHED IN THE ORANGE COUNTY REPORTER: November 19, 2004 PUBLICLY NOTICED: November 19, 2004 RECOMMENDATION: Adopt a resolution approving Certificate of Appropriateness for Historic Exterior Modification Application No. 2004-02. Historic Resources Commission Minutes 2 December 2, 2004 Holly Soboleske, Assistant Planner provided the staff report and recommendation. r, 2. Commissioners discussed the existing molding atop the addition. A similar wooden cap on the portico's fascia did not appear on the proposal. Commission requested that applicant add capping detail at the roofline of the portico. Applicant concurred. Four by four inch post had exposed anchor, to match the front elevation, the applicant agreed to sheath the entire post. Commission indicated sheathing the entire post, including anchors, to 1 "x6" lumber clad with mitered corners. Public Comments: Jeff Dickman spoke in support of the project. Public hearing closed. Staff Comments Planning Manager, Jay Trevino congratulated Mr. Giles on his upcoming ceremony and extended a Happy Holiday to all Commissioners. Requested a copy of the annual objectives for the Historic Commission for 2004-2005. Vice Chairman Schaefer • Wished all Happy Holidays, thanked the staff for their work throughout the year. Commissioner Chinn • Thanked staff for outstanding work and Leslie Heumann for her involvement. • Commented on One Broadway Mitigation Measures memo. Chairman Giles Congratulated Commissioner Corpin on her gardening tip that appeared in the latest Sunset Magazine. Commented on memo on North Broadway Corridor. 5. Excuse of Absences Moved by Chairman Giles and Seconded by Commissioner Corpin to excuse the absences of Commissioners Bustamante and Gartner, unanimously approved. 6.
