The applicant is requesting approval of Historic Exterior Modification Application No 2010-01 for a room additi n to the rear of the existing • structure, demolish the existing deteriorate one car garage as well as a new two car detached garage to the rear of he lot for the property located at 1449 South Cypress Avenue historically nown as the Gardiner House. B. The property was built in 1923, and was pla ed on the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties as Contributive in 20 8. The property is also listed on the California Register of Historical Reso rtes. C. The Gardiner House has Craftsman Bungall~w styled architecture, and as one of the first residences developed in the adison Park neighborhood. D. Pursuant to Santa Ana Municipal Code sect on 30-6, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly noticed ublic hearing on April 1, 2010 for the request for exterior modifications oft a historic Gardiner House. (Historic Exterior Modification Application N .2010-01). E. Since the property is listed on the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties, all exterior modifications or alterations are required to meet the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. 1.
