COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA A A APPROVING
HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION
NO. 2008-38 TO PLACE THE PROPERT LOCATED AT
610 EAST THIRD STREET, SANTA NA ON THE
HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC
REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2008-38 PLACING
SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE KEY CATEGORY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOUR~ES COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana
hereby finds, determines and declares as follows:
A. On March 5, 2009, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly
noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of
Historical Properties (Historic Resources commission Application No.
2008-38) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission
Categorization No. 2008-38) of the Roelands House, located at 610 East
Third Street, Santa Ana.
B. The Roelands House was constructed in 1912 and is a Craftsman
Bung~tow styled house. The structure's missing is symmetrical with a
centered front door and front facade fenestration (one over one double
hung windows). Each front facing window includes splayed lintels, and
two front gabled dormers grace the front fa~ade, each with latticed vents
to match the front gable vent.
C: This home qualifies for listing on the Santis Ana Register of Historical
Properties and is eligible for categorization as Key because it "has a
distinctive architectural style and quality" aslan excellent example of the
Craftsman Bungalow style. The house is ihighly intact and in excellent
condition.
D. Character defining features of this house include exposed rafters and
beams, horizontal wood siding, and an art stone front porch.
E. The legal owner of the subject property is Jose Leal.
F. The legal description for the subject property, is attached hereto as Exhibit
A and incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein.
