1. ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 2010-03

Filed by the City of Santa Ana to request an amendment to Chapter 41 of the
Santa Ana Municipal Code (SAMC) in order to establish a process whereby
persons with disabilities may request deviations from the City's development
standards in order to ensure that they may have equal opportunity to use and
enjoy a dwelling.
PUBLISHED IN THE ORANGE COUNTY REPORTER: January 12, 2011
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Zoning
Ordinance Amendment No. 2010-03 to amend Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana
Municipal Code in order to establish a process whereby persons with disabilities
may request reasonable accommodations from the City's development
standards.
Planning Manager Karen Haluza presented the staff report and recommendation.

Executive Director Trevino welcomed the newly appointed commissioners.
Planning Manager Haluza announced the cancellation of the February 14, 2011
Planning Commission meeting.

PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS
Chairman Alderete requested an update regarding the City's Redevelopment
Agency in light of proposals from the State to eliminate redevelopment agencies.
Executive Director Trevino stated that the City would be joining other jurisdictions
throughout the state advocating on behalf of the Redevelopment Agency.
There were no other comments requiring follow-up.
