The City, as an urban water supplier, is required by the Urban Water Management Plan Act (Act)
to update and submit a plan to the California Department of Water Resources every five years.
City Council adopted the 2005 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) on November 7, 2005.
In May 2010, the City entered into an agreement with the Municipal Water District of Orange
County, (MWDOC), to prepare the updated 2010 UWMP. The City's 2010 UWMP updates and
revises the 2005 UWMP and includes an analysis of the following elements of the City's system:
? Water Service Area and Facilities
? Water Sources and Supplies
? Water Use by Customer Type
? Water Supply Reliability
? Water Shortage Contingency Plan
? Water Conservation
The plan is complete and copies are available for review in the Clerk of the Council's office, and at
the Public Works Counter in City Hall. Staff recommends the adoption of the City's 2010 UWMP.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
In accordance with Section 15282 of the CEQA Guidelines, preparation and adoption of urban
water management plans are statutorily exempt from further environmental review.
