COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION At its Regular Meeting of June 7, 2011, by a vote of 4:0 (Verino absent), the Community Redevelopment and Housing Commission recommended that the Housing Authority receive and file the Quarterly Report for Housing Choice Voucher Program: January 2011 -March 2011. DISCUSSION The January 2011 -March 2011 quarterly status report for the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Rental Assistance Program provides statistics for the day-to-day activities of the Santa Ana Housing Authority. The report is divided into three sections: Waiting List, Participants, and Production. 1. Residency Preference Waiting List As of March 31, 2011 there were 4,044 individuals/families on the waiting list. The waiting list last b'VorkinSanta opened October 1, 2007 and closed Alfa November 30, 2007. Charts 1 and ~`~~ 2 depict the characteristics of those currently on the waiting list. The Housing Authority pays the difference between the tenant portion and the contract rent. This payment is the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). HQS Inspecti©ns HQS Inspections 185 Each assisted unit must be 18° inspected at least annually to 17~ ensure it meets the Housing 174 Quality Standards (HQS) in compliance with federal 1~5 i81 guidelines. Re-exams & Interims Each year, the Housing Authority °° must re-certify each participating 254 family to ensure compliance with 128 8G 09 program eligibility.
