Authorize the City Manager to request a proposal from the Orange County Fire Authority for the
purposes of outsourcing all fire and emergency medical services in an amount not to exceed
$75,000.
DISCUSSION
The proposal request would explore the possibility to outsource all emergency fire, and
emergency medical services, training, hazardous materials response, Urban Search and Rescue,
Fire Prevention Communications and Dispatch services, Information Technology services, facility
and apparatus maintenance and administrative support to the Orange County Fire Authority.
City management and labor have both agreed to review and discuss all options presented by the
Orange County Fire Authority.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds in an amount of $75,000 are available in the City Manager's Office non-departmental
(account #01105015-62300).
