Location is hard to access beneath Bristol Street
Electrical panels are outdoors — set on the back of sidewalk
Access is a manhole that floods during rain storms

EIR Process
Environmental Impact Report (EIR) was prepared for the San
Lorenzo Sewer Lift Station in 2010
J EIR was circulated for Public Review and Comment from July
14th through September 10t ", 2010 (58 days)
EIR was originally scheduled for the City Council meeting of
February 7th, 2011; however, the item was pulled to address a
number of last minute comments received the afternoon of the
City Council meeting
The City chose to expand the EIR's analysis of alternatives for
the proposed project and incorporate other minor revisions into
the document
A Draft EIR was prepared and re- circulated for public review
from September 14th through October 31St, 2011
The re- circulated EIR evaluated 21 alternatives to the proposed
project, including 19 alternative site locations
Alternative Site Locations
Findings
None of the alternatives evaluated is environmentally superior
to the proposed project
Many of these alternatives would actually have greater
environmental impacts than the proposed project
The proposed new location for the lift station is an unused sliver
of land at the West end of San Lorenzo Avenue

Acquisition
To Construct the new lift station, the City will need to acquire
approximately 292 Square Feet of unused land currently owned
by the Santa Ana California Lodge
A portion of this acquisition includes an existing sewer
easement that was dedicated to the City in the 1960s when that
portion of San Lorenzo Avenue was vacated
There is an existing 12" sewer main currently flowing through
said easement, and this sewer main is operating above capacity
