North Heliotrope Drive (Hall-Knickerbocker House) on the Santa Ana Register of
Historical Properties.

RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission Application No.
2011-03 and Historic Register Categorization No. 2011-03.
Associate Planner Hally Soboleske presented the staff report and
recommendation.
Commissioner Schaefer commented that after the fire, additions were done to
the property. Ms. Soboleske provided information that the addition did not alter
the structure's architectural significance.
Commissioner Hifterdale provided some historical information regarding Mr.
Knickerbocker who had been a Lincoln-Mercury auto dealer and Rotarian.
The public hearing was opened. No public members spoke. The public hearing
was closed.

and HRCA/HRC 2011-03) as he conducted business with the applicants.
C. HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION AGREEMENT NO. 2011-05
' Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute a historic property preservation
agreement with Max Garces for the structure located at 1901 North Heliotrope
Drive (Hall-Knickerbocker House).
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the
Council to execute the attached agreement with Max Garces, property owner for
the structure located at 1901 North Heliotrope Drive subject to non-substantive
changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney.

• Commented on outstanding preservation of the residence at 532 Eastside.
6. EXCUSE OF ABSENCES
Commissioner Morfin moved to excuse the absences of Chairman Rogers and
Commissioner Yrarrazaval. The motion was seconded by Commissioner
Schaefer and unanimously approved by the Commission with a vote of 6:0.
