Filed by the City of Santa Ana to amend the Resolution previously adopted on November 4,
2004 to indicate approval of placement of the structure at 210 South Birch Street on the
Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties (HRCA No. 2004-26/HRC No. 2004-26).
RECOMMENDATION:
Amend the Resolution No. 20014-16 dated November 4, 2004 to indicate the item was
"approved" and not "denied" as previously adopted.

D. HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION AGREEMENT NO. 2013-01
Filed by the City of Santa Ana to execute a historic property preservation agreement with
Jeffrey Dresser and Sandra Meza for the structure located at 2418 North Poinsettia Street.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to
execute the attached agreement with Jeffrey Dresser and Sandra Meza, property owners
for the structure located at 2418 North Poinsettia Street, subject to non-substantive
changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney.
Electronic mail message received from Ann Salisbury expressing concern that the street-
facing windows are not consistent with the architectural style of the home.
Principal Planner Klotz indicated staff inspected the windows and found them to be
architecturally in compliance and in compliance with the windows that existed at the time
property was originally listed on the historic register.

Filed by Andrea Michelle Hopper, to allow the placement and categorization in the Santa
Ana Register of Historical Properties as Contributive for the property located 2450 North
Bonnie Brae (Berck-Gilbert House).

RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission Application No: 2013-02 and
Historic Register Categorization No. 2013-02.
Principal Planner Sergio Klotz presented the staff report and recommendation.
Electronic mail message was received from Ann Salisbury regarding inappropriate window
materials...
Staff confirmed the windows are wood but also contain a removable vinyl trim inset, all in
compliance with historic standards.
The public hearing was opened. No public members spoke. The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Christy appreciated the continued categorizations in Santa Ana that
preserve structures with Ranch style architecture.

Planning Manager Haluza welcomed Commissioner Christy.
Principal Planner Klotz announced that staff was coordinating upcoming training sessions
kicking off at the October HRC meeting to provide training and education to the
Commission as well as the public related to historic preservation and the Secretary of
Interior Standards.
4. HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION COMMENTS
Commissioners congratulated the applicant on the categorization and welcomed
Commissioner Christy.
5. EXCUSE OF ABSENCES
Commissioner Christy moved to excuse the absences of Chairman Schaefer and
Commissioner Bustamante. The motion was seconded by Vice Chairman Mill and
unanimously approved by a vote of 5:0.
