Award a contract to American Wreckage, Inc. for the demolition of 1012 and 1015 North Logan, in the amount of $45,400 and authorize the Executive Director of the Community Development Agency to execute all necessary documents. 2. Approve a project budget not to exceed $52,500. By a vote of 7:0 at its Regular Meeting of January 4, 2005. On August 16, 2004, the Community Redevelopment Agency authorized the acquisition of the properties located at 1012 and 1015 North Logan (Exhibit 1) as part of an infill project. Demolition of the existing structures is needed in order to move forward with the development of single - family residences on these sites. 6 -37 Contract Award for Demolition of 1012 and 1015 N. Logan January 18, 2005 Page 2 A public notice requesting bids for the demolition of these structures was published in the Orange County Register and advertised online via The Blue Book of Building and Construction. Sixteen bid packages were issued to interested parties. A total of six bid packages were returned. Of those, one bid package was not complete and deemed unresponsive. A summary of the responsive bids received is as follows: American Wreckage, Inc. (South E1 Monte) $45,400 Vision Environmental Services (Fullerton) $45,427 Castlerock Environmental, Inc. (Santa Fe Springs) $57,890 U.S. Construction (Santa Ana) $58,820 J & G Industries, Inc. (Fountain Valley) $89,720 The bid received from American Wrecking, Inc. was the lowest responsive bid. The project budget (Exhibit 2) in the amount of $52,500 will ensure adequate funding in order to demolish the unit, provide for necessary site work and fund any necessary contingencies. CEQA COMPLIANCE In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Mitigated Negative Declaration ER No. 2004 -247 has been prepared. FISCAL IMPACT Funds for the demolition are available in the Low and Moderate Housing Set -Aside account (account nos. 504 -936- 6291/61513 and 504 -936- 6291/61514). '�' �J' PYtricia C.
