DISCUSSION
The Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce has played a major role in promoting
and enhancing the image of the community by building strong partnerships
with government, education, the business community and our residents.
With private sector support, the Chamber has been able to provide new
programs and services to enhance the economic viability of our businesses
and residents. The CityLine publication is an effective communication
tool introduced by the Chamber, which was the first of its kind to
provide local business, development, and municipal information to both
businesses and residents.
The additional support and promotion of CityLine will include the
continued expansion of mailings to over 25,000 businesses and real estate
brokers in targeted industries outside Santa Ana in greater Orange County
and Los Angeles County. The City /Agency will also receive expanded
publication space, which will feature regular articles, photos, captions,
and announcements relating to City programs and events. This agreement
will also include printing of 25,000 additional copies per issue of
CityLine.
At its meeting of September 12, 2007, the City's Ad Hoc Finance Committee
requested that the Chamber of Commerce Executive Director be invited to
,their next meeting to provide more detailed information on the benefits
provided by the Chamber to the City of Santa Ana. The Committee has
