I just learned that Mr. Bill McGowan representing Ingram Micro was recently separated (last Friday) from this employer. The Workforce Investment Act law has specific requirements that a private sector representative must meet in order to be eligible for appointment. With that said, Mr. McGowan has expressed interest in serving on the WIB board and staff can work with him as he finds employment and bring him back to WIB committee for a recommendation to appoint. I would hope that we would be able to bring his name back to Council for consideration at a later date. Please advise on how to proceed or withdraw Mr. McGowan from tonight’s agenda.
