Award a contract to Tree Pros, Inc. for tree pruning at the Civic Center complex in the amount
not to exceed $55,425; subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager and
City Attorney.
DISCUSSION
The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency maintains 1,053 trees in the Civic
Center. This service contract will provide an annual Class 1 pruning to maintain the health of the
trees and enhance safety for Civic Center visitors.
The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 3, 2014 on the City's online bid management
and publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows:

Bids were opened on March 3, 2014 and evaluated. The bid received from Tree Pros, Inc. is
responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. To allow for unanticipated
charges, an additional $10,000 contingency has been included in the award amount.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the Civic Center Regular Maintenance account (no.07413250- 62320).
