CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 2011 -04
9:10 a.m.
Mr. Sergio Klotz, Zoning Administrator, called to order the public hearing in the City Hall
Ross Annex Conference Room 2001.
Also in attendance were: Michael Cho, David Radanovich and Frank Aguirre,
Applicants; Verny Carvajal, Senior Planner; Yolanda Pena and Mike McCoy, Police
Department; Ryan Hodge, City Attorney; and Jocelyn Magalona, Recording Secretary.
Verny Carvajal presented the staff report and recommendation for denial.
There were no written communications.
The applicants outlined their support and provided company and employee training
background along with a handout.
Discussion and clarification was held regarding the Public Convenience and Necessity
is (PC &N) letter and the above average crime rate in the area.
After careful consideration of police activity as well as economic and social impacts, the
Zoning Administrator remanded the project to the Planning Commission for review. Mr.
Cho stated their preference for approval by adding a condition to bring the project back
for review. The Police Department stated the difficulty in revoking a license once
issued. The Zoning Administrator explained that the land use was the consideration.
The Zoning Administrator remanded Conditional Use Permit No. 2011 -04 to the
Planning Commission as a public hearing item on March 28, 2011.
The hearing adjourned at 9:54 a.m.
