THIS FIRST AMENDMENT, made and entered into this 24 "' day of March, 2014, by and between South
�62 Orange County Community College District dba Saddleback College ( "CONTRACTOR ") and the City of Santa
t Ana, a charter city and municipal corporation duly organized and existing under the Constitution and laws of the
4' State of California ( "City ").
` RECITALS
A. The City and CONTRACTOR entered into that certain Agreement on February 6; 2012( #A -2012 -014)
hereinafter referred to as "said Agreement" for CONTRACTOR to collaborate with the design and implementation
of the Core Engineering Bridge Curriculum for the H -113 Technical Skills Training Grant.
B. The parties hereto now desire to amend said Agreement and Exhibit E to reduce the CONTRACTOR's
funding amount.
WHEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual and respective covenants and promises hereinafter contained and
made, and subject to all of the terms and conditions of said Agreement as hereby amended, the parties hereto do
hereby agree as follows:
1. Section II. A. "CITY'S OBLIGATIONS" shall be amended to decrease fiends to CONTRACTOR by
Eighty Six Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($$6,400), so that the total amount of funds to CONTRACTOR
under said Agreement, as amended, shall not exceed Six Hundred Seventy Seven Thousand Four Hundred Fifty
Four Dollars ($677,454). An updated and revised Budget is attached hereto and incorporated herein as the
aneaded Exhibit E.
2. Except as herein above modified, the terms and conditions of said Agreement remain unchanged and in
full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this First Amendment to said Agreement the date
and year first above written.

Curriculum Development and Implementation Math Lead: With Science/Engineering
Lead, serves on Instructional Design Team, develops and delivers Core Bridge to
Engineering Curriculum, coordinates with other CCs. $19,272 in Year 1, $19,657 in Year 2,
$20,051 in Year 3, and $20,452 in Year 4 for a total of $79,432. Fringe Benefits @ 19.24%

Curriculum Development and Implementation Sci/Eng Lead: With Math Lead, serves on

Adjunct Faculty: ($1100 unit) Assists in delivering Core Bridge to Engineering
curriculum, accelerated math, science basics = $9,453 in Year 1, $10,061 in Year 2,
$10,262 in Year 3, and $10,467 in Year 4 for a total of $40,244. Fringe Benefits @ 11.55%
$1,092 in Year 1, $1,162 in Year 2, $1,185 in Year 3, and $1,209 in Year 4 for a total of

Academic Counselor: (25% FTE no summers) Provides dedicated academic counseling
time to Saddleback Community College cohorts to help them succeed in OC B2E and
transfer to the institution of their choice = $22,860 in Year 1, $23,317 in Year 2, $23,784 in Year
3, and $24,259 in Year 4 for a total of $94,220. Fringe Benefits @ 13.04% _ $3,000 in Year
1, $3,100 in Year 2, $3,150 in Year 3, and $3,200 in Year 4 for a total of $12,450
Tutorial: (20 hrs /week at $11 /hr) Student tutors dedicated to OC 132E cohorts = $8,610 in
Year 1, $8,610 in Year 2, $8,610 in Year 3, and $9,170 in Year 4 for a total of $35,000,
Fringe Benefits @ 9.86% _ $946 in Year 1, $818 in Year 2, $818 in Year 3, and $871 in Year 4

Cohort Field Trips: Transportation and supplies for CC cohorts to visit local companies as
part of career exploration curriculum. $2,500 in Year 1, $8,000 in Year 2, $10,000 in Year 3, and
$10,000 in Year 4 for a total of $30,500

Mileage: Travel to and from consortia meetings for Math Lead and Science/Engineering Lead.
Year 1- $500, Year 2- $500, Year 3- $500, and Year 4- $500, for a total of $2,000
Chemicals /Lab supplies, Physics, Chemistry /Computer Science: Includes software,
graphing calculators, and other lab supplies. $9,050 in Year 1, $9,780 in Year 2, $12,930

Project Supplies for Workshops and special projects /activities: $4000 Year 2, $4000 Year 3,
$4000 Year 4 for a total of $12,000
Book Loan Program: $12,000 Year 2, $12,000 Year 3 for a total of $24,000
Contractual: Contract education/ non - credit engineering, robotics and other workshop type
courses and other vendors = $40,800 Year 2, $32,000 Year 3, $32,000 Year 4 for a total of
$104,800.
Contractual: Textbook Rental= $4200 Year 2.
Indirect Costs = $8,731 in Year 1, $14,378 in Year 2, $13,882 in Year 3, and $13,191 in Year 4
