PUBLIC COMMENTS - Members of the public may address the City Council on items on the
Closed Session Agenda.
CLOSED SESSION ITEMS
- The Brown Act permits legislative bodies to discuss certain matters without
members of the public present. The City Council finds, based on advice from the City Attorney, that discussion in open
session of the following matters will prejudice the position of the City in existing and anticipated litigation:
1. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL--EXISTING LITIGATION pursuant to
Paragraph (1) of subdivision (d) of Section 54956.9 of the Government Code:
1.JOINT ITEM – City of Santa Ana, Successor Agency and Housing Authority: Peebler
vs. State of California Superior Court Case No. 34-2012-80001172; Court of Appeal
Case No. C073698
2.JOINT ITEM – City of Santa Ana, Successor Agency and Housing Authority: Cuenca
vs. State
3.JOINT ITEM – City of Santa Ana, Successor Agency and Housing Authority: City of
Santa Ana vs. Ana Matosantos (DOF) Case No. 34-2013-80001477

2. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL – POTENTIAL INITIATION OF
LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to paragraph (4) of subdivision (d)
of Section 54956.9 of the Government Code: - One Case (Civil/Criminal Case).
3. LIABILITY CLAIMS pursuant to section 54956.95 of the Government Code:
Claim No. 2014-036-Wawanesa Insurance as subrogee for Sandra Acosta
4.THREAT TO PUBLIC SERVICES OR FACILITIES – Pursuant to Government Code
section 54957.
Consultation with: Santa Ana Police Department, Police Chief Rojas

- The City Attorney will report on any action(s) to be taken at the Regular
Meeting which will begin immediately following the Closed Session Meeting.
