COMMISSIONER COMMUNICATION DISCLOSURE (REGARDING AGENDIZED
PROJECTS):
• Vice Chairman Mill disclosed that he had a telephone conversation with Bob
Bisno regarding agenda item no. 3, where Mr. Bisno wanted him to assure his
public comment was delivered to the Planning Commission.

A project overview was provided by Ricardo Soto, Assistant Planner I. Vice
Chairman Mill opened the public hearing. The applicant spoke in support of the
project and answered questions from the commission related to drought - tolerant
landscaping. Email communication was received from Mary Whitenack in support of
the project.
MOTION: Adopt a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 2015 -16 as
conditioned.

COMMENTS
Hassan Haghani
• Mentioned that there will be a commissioner training session in October, which
will include the City Attorney's Office and Police Department representatives.
Vince Fregoso
• Provided a memo regarding the Planning Division process for public noticing and
also provided samples for review.
6. PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS
Commissioner Bacerra
• Thanked Vince Fregoso for providing the public noticing information as
previously requested. He suggested the on -site notices be prepared in
fluorescent color and have the project address stand out.
Commissioner Alderete
• Suggested that the notices be translated in Spanish and /or Vietnamese instead
of only providing a reference to bilingual assistance.
Commissioner Verino
• Suggested that the envelopes be stamped with "important notice" to bring
attention to the content.
Commissioner Bauer
• Agreed that the notices can be improved to provide better communication to
residents.
Vice Chair Mill
• Provided an update on a recent neighborhood outreach meeting with residents
impacted by Mater Dei's expansion with Councilmember Michele Martinez. Local
realtors have agreed to represent impacted homeowners at zero commission and
to assure that they are fairly represented before Mater Dei's representatives.
ADJOURNED 6:11 P.M. - The next meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled
for Monday, September 14, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber,
22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California.
