Chairperson Christy announced at the last meeting the professor and students from Orange
Coast College (OCC) were in attendance. Noted as a class project they are assisting with
paperwork and documentation on helping Floral Park to achieve historic district status and
requested the Recording Secretary send a thank you letter for their attendance and helping the
city preserve historic homes and the integrity of neighborhoods.

WORK STUDY SESSION
HERITAGE VILLAGE CEQA
(Contined from the October 6, 2016 meeting.)
Candida Neal, Planning Manager, spoke on options on a dedicated zone to place, save
and move historic structures slated for demolition. She proceeded to discuss the
ordinance and requirements in place and discussed the potential option of moving to the
Heritage Museum of Orange County noting homes would no longer be residential
structure but be incorporated into the museum. Discussed another option the City of
Pomona used of using a remnant parcel adjacent to an existing historic district and use
remained residential, and options of placement on an existing lot, city -owned parcels,
or moved outside the city. Ms. Neal commented staff would like to have policies in
place when preparing the Historic Preservation Element.

15. GENERAL PLAN UPDATE OVERVIEW
Verny Carvajal, Senior Planner, provided a status report on the General Plan Update
which is long-term blueprint for the City's vision of the future. He shared short video on
the General Plan which discussed the various elements to be included in the plan. Mr.
Carvajal further provided a summary of Community Outreach strategy including the
Executive Summary that summarizes the community input, noted there was a youth -
based summer program, and spoke on the urban design and historic preservation
elements and provided a link to access the community access report at
www.santaana.org/generalplan.
