0RDINA/~CE NO. NS-355 A~,~ENDING ~HE SAN TA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING-~NG OF TAXICABS ON THE STREETS OF THE CITY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T.~E C~ TY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Section 6381.6 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. That Section 6386 of the Santa Aha ~unicipat Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 6386. Taxicab Stops and Solicitation. No person shall stand any taxicab in any place upon any street of the City where parking is controlled or regulated by parking meters, or upon any portion of Main Street in the City for amy period of time longer than actually necessary to dis- charge passengers at such point as passengers have indicated, or to take on a passenger which said passenger at such time shall be in waiting, and then said stop shall be made only at a traf- fic corner or in front of a re~idence or place of business designated in the call requesting a taxicab, or at a place where a pedestrian has hailed said cab. No taxicab driver or other person shall solicit the carry- ing of passengers for hire or otherwise at, or within a radius of two hundred feet of any depot, waiting room or transporta- tion terminal of any Motor Bus Company or public motor vehicle conveyance duly authorimed, licensed or operating under a per- mit as provided for in this Code or one that is duly authorized by any gove~mental agency and operates solely within the County of Orange; provided, however, that th~ Section shall not be construed to prohibit solicitation from the principal place of business of any taxicab c ompar~y." SECTION 3. This Ordinauce shall take effect 30 days from and after the date of its adoption.
