Our geotechnical services pertaining to the <br />backfill of the excavation are summarized in the subsequent sections of this report. <br />Backfill O Derations <br />The existing pool shell was left intact and two 3 feet by 3 feet holes, one in the middle <br />and one in the shallow end of the pool and one 6 feet by 6 feet hole in the deep end of <br />the pool were placed through the bottom to allow for drainage. The upper 2 feet of the <br />pool walls were removed. The fill area was approximately 28 feet by 15 feet with a <br />maximum depth of 8 feet. The pool was backfilled with approximately 2 feet of 1 inch <br />minus crushed concrete. The crushed concrete was overlain with a filter fabric prior to <br />the placement of compacted fill soils. Fill material placed was compacted to a minimum <br />of 90% of the laboratory standard in lifts not in excess of eight inches in thickness. A <br />rubber{ire Bobcat loader was utilized for compaction control. A water hose provided <br />moisture control.
