<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
<br />AMENDING SECTION 8-1 OF THE SANTA ANA
<br />MUNICIPAL CODEr PERTAINING TO THE APPLI-
<br />CATION AND SCOPE OF CHAPTER 8 THEREOF,
<br />AND AMENDING ARTICLE V OF SAID CHAPTER 8
<br />TO ADOPT THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE,
<br />1975 EDITION, WITH AMENDMENTS AND ADDI-
<br />TIONAL REQUIREMENTS.

<br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
<br />ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br /> SECTION 1: Section 8-1 of the Santa Ana Municipal
<br />Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
<br />
<br />Sec. 8-1. Application and scope.
<br />
<br /> If any provision of this chapter conflicts with the
<br />regulations of the Commission of Housing and Community Develop-
<br />ment adopted pursuant to the State Housing Law (Health and
<br />Safety Code Sections 17910 et seq.), such provision shall apply
<br />to an activity subject to such regulations only if either the
<br />provision was in effect prior to November 23, 1970, or the pro-
<br />vision was enacted pursuant to Sections 17958.5 and 17958.7 of
<br />the State Housing Law.

<br /> SECTION 2: That Section 8-667 of the Santa Ana Muni-
<br />cipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

<br />Sec. 8-667. Adoption by reference.
<br />
<br /> There is adopted by the city that certain code known
<br />as the National Electrical Code, 1975 Edition, and the whole
<br />thereof save and except such portions as are deleted by the
<br />amendments set forth in this Article, of which said code not
<br />less than three (3) copies have been and are on file in the
<br />office of the clerk of the council of the city. The said code
<br />is adopted and incorporated as fully as if set forth at length
<br />herein, as provided for in Section 419 of the Charter of the
<br />City, and, subject to all amendments set forth in this article,
<br />shall be in effect within the City of Santa Ana from the effec-
<br />tive date of this ordinance. Any provision of this article
<br />amending the "Electrical Code" or "National Electrical Code"
<br />shall be construed as amending the said adopted code, 1975
<br />Edition, including such provisions enacted prior to the enact-
<br />ment of this ordinance and not thereafter repealed. The said
<br />adopted code, 1975 Edition, as thus amended, together with all
<br />other provisions of this article, shall be known as the Elec-
<br />trical Code of the City of Santa Ana.

<br /> SECTION 3: That the following sections of the Santa
<br />Ana Municipal Code are hereby repealed: 8-699, 8-700, 8-710,
<br />8-719, 8-729, 8-741, 8-756, 8-785, 8-797, 8-810, 8-826, 8-837,
<br />8-857, 8-879, 8-896, 8-916, 8-928, 8-940, 8-942, 8-953, 8-969,
<br />8-979, 8-1000, 8-1010, 8-1023, 8-1034, 8-1050, 8-1070, and
<br />8-1090.
