NS-2486 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REVISING <br />THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS FOR STREETS IN THE <br />CITY AS SET FORTH IN ARTICLE VII OF CHAPTER 36 OF <br />THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1: That Article VII, consisting of sections 36-227 through 36-275, of <br />Chapter 36 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, as revised by Ordinance No. NS-2311, is <br />hereby repealed with the exception of the following: <br /> <br />Sec. 36-257. Main Street <br /> <br />Between 1st Street and Chestnut Avenue <br />Between Chestnut Avenue and Edinger Avenue <br /> <br />30 <br />30 <br /> <br /> All provisions of the Santa Ana Municipal Code which are repeated herein are <br />repeated solely in order to comply with the provisions of section 418 of the Charter of the <br />City of Santa Ana. Any such restatement of existing provisions of the Code is not <br />intended, nor shall it be interpreted, as constituting a new action or decision of the City <br />Council, but rather such provisions are repeated for tracking purposes only in <br />conformance with the Charter. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That the Santa Aha Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding <br />a new Article VII, consisting of sections 36-227 through 36-279, to Chapter 36 of the <br />Santa Ana Municipal Code, which said article reads as follows: <br /> <br />ARTICLE VII. PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS <br /> <br />Sec. 36-227. Prima facie speed limits in general. <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Santa Ana determines and declares, upon the <br />basis of engineering and traffic surveys made on or after November 7, 2000, which <br />surveys are public records on file in the offices of the Public Works Agency of the city, <br />that the prima facie speed limits specified in those sections are reasonable, safe and <br />most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic upon the streets and <br />portions of streets specified in those sections, which streets and portions of streets <br />would otherwise be subject to the prima fade speed limits established in the California <br />Vehicle Code. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. NS-2486 <br /> Page 1 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
