ORDINANCE N0.703. An Ordinance of the City of Santa ~na by its Board of Trustees as the legislative branch t~ereof ordering t}'e submission to the ~lectors of Certoin inhabited territory, contig~uous to s~id City, of t}e question of w~etber or not that certain new sad ir~b~bited territory shall be sun,xed to sad incorporated in sad m~de a ~srt of suc~ municipal corpora- tion and calling s special election for that r~urpose in said territory sad fixing the date ~ which such election s}oll be held, the manner of holding ~uch election designating a special election precinct in ssid territory for said election, naming election officers tberefor and t}Le c~Fe~sation there- of, dlrecti~)g notice to be given and providing thst in all particulates not recited in t}~is 0rdinsnce, such election shsll be held ss provided by law for holding municipal election in the City of Sant~ Ans. ~ereas, on the llth day of December 1922, there was filed with t}e Clerk of this Board, the certain wrified petitioo of more than one-fourth (1/4) in ~umber of all t}~e qualified electors residing wit}fa certain inhabited territory therein, described sa~d territory belr. g and lying ~ a co~tiouous pa~cel of inhabite~ territory ao~ contiguous to and adjacent to the core, orate limits of t~'e City of Santa Aaa and duly described therei~, said petit!ca pr~yi~g that said inhabited territory be annexed to and to become part of said City and in accordance with tlc provision of "Annexation Act of 1918", of tl:e general laws of tlc bt~te of California, said ~ct Deing numbered 3055 and entitled, "An Act to Provide for the Alteration of the Boundaries of and for tlc ~nr~exatlon of Territory to }.~unicipal Corporations, for the Incorporation of Suc~ Annexed Territory tn and as a Part ~ereof, and for the Districtlog, Government and ~unicipal Control of Sues Annexed Territory", approved June llth 1918 and subseq~ent s~endments thereto. The legal description of said land and exterior bound~rle thereof are as follows, to-wit: Being the North one-half of the Northwest one-quarter of bectlon 24, Township 5 South, ~nge l0 West, S.B.B. & ~,f, more particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the common corners of ~ections 1~,14,28 ~nd 24 s~id Township and Eange; said point being a Southwest corner of the City Limits of Santa Aaa, lying in the center line of Bristol Street: thence ~asterly along the North line of said Section 24, sad City Limits line to the Yorth one-' quarter Corner of said Section 24; tker~ce Southerly alomg the City Limits lir]e to its imtersect~on w~th the ceDter line of ~!nger Street to its intersection with the center llne of Bristol Street; t~.ence Northerly along tlc center' line of Bristol Street to the poiot of begi~ning.
