DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Public Works Agency's Street Maintenance Division is responsible <br />for maintaining the streets of Santa Ana. In order to do so, a <br />contract for annual asphalt street maintenance operations is required. <br />Contract services include the excavation and cold milling of existing <br />roadways, the installation of pavement reinforcement' fabric, <br />construction of asphalt concrete pavement, and crack sealing. In <br />addition, the contract will provide for water system maintenance, which <br />includes water trench repair, and the adj ustment of water valve boxes <br />and manhole frames and covers to the new grade level. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 26-27, 2004, and <br />bids were solicited.
