DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program <br />is included in the City's annual budget, and identifies vehicles <br />scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. <br /> <br />Various City agencies utilize compact pickup' trucks to perform routine <br />business. The Public Works Agency's Maintenance, Trees and Street <br />Painting Division uses pickup trucks with top work shells to carry the <br />graffiti cleanup supplies. The current replacement schedule includes <br />one S-10 pickup truck that was damaged beyond repair. As such, the <br />damaged truck has been budgeted and approved for replacement in the <br />current fiscal year. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 11-12, 2004, and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids <br />received is as follows: <br /> <br />34 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Invitation For Bid mailed to a Santa Ana vendor <br />6 Bids received <br /> <br />. Bids were received and opened on March 3, 2 Ó 04 (Exhibit 1). The bid <br />from Lake Chevrolet is responsive to the specifications and meets the <br />City's requirements. <br /> <br />22E-1 <br />
