DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division's annual Equipment Replacement Program <br />is included in the City's annual budget,' and identifies vehicles <br />scheduled for replacement. Funding is monitored through a depreciation <br />schedule established with each department. <br /> <br />Various City Departments utilize midsize passenger vehicles to perform <br />routine business. The Building Safety Division of the Planning & <br />Building Agency utilizes midsize passenger vehicles to transport Safety <br />Inspectors for routine building inspection. The current replacement <br />schedule includes one 1991 Oldsmobile Ciera.Due to age and condition, <br />the vehicle has been budgeted and approved for replacement in the <br />current fiscal year. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on February 18-19, 2004, and <br />bids were solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids <br />received is as follows: <br /> <br />20 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Invitation For Bid mailed to a Santa Ana vendor <br />6 Bids received <br /> <br />. Bids were received and opened on March 8, 2004 (Exhibit 1).
