NO. 02-060) <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />!2fldrz <br /> <br />CI MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Renew the contracts for miscellaneous plants and nursery supplies for a <br />one-year period in the annual amounts as follows: <br /> <br />Bidder: <br /> <br />Amount: <br /> <br />D and N Plants <br />Village Nurseries <br /> <br />$20,000 <br />$20,000 <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />Color plants and nursery supplies such as ground cover, soil and <br />fertilizer are used extensively in the maintenance of City facilities. <br />Various departments require a wide range of materials for repair or <br />improvement proj ects. To help ensure that all necessary materials are <br />available when required, contracts were awarded to two vendors. <br /> <br />On July 15, 2002, the City Council awarded contracts for miscellaneous <br />color plants and nursery supplies to D and N Plants, and Village <br />Nurseries for a two-year period with provision for two one-year <br />renewals. 0 and N Plants, and Village Nurseries continue to maintain <br />the lowest prices available. The vendors have performed satisfactorily <br />and staff recommends the first renewal of the contract. The <br />recommended amount represents a 20 percent decrease over the previous <br />contract period. <br /> <br />228-1 <br /> <br />CS.383 <br />
