Award a contract to Dominguez General Engineering and Construction, <br />the lowest responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices for <br />an estimated amount of $266,120 for the installation of sewer <br />improvements along Flower and Fifteenth Streets. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of <br />$332,800. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The existing sewer mains along Flower and Fifteenth Streets were built in <br />the 1930' s (Exhibit 1). The sewer mains have exceeded their expected <br />design life, encountered deterioration, and are undersized. This project <br />will provide for the installation of sewer mains, laterals, manholes and <br />cleanouts. Once completed, the project will increase sewer capacity and <br />eliminate the maintenance problems associated with older and deteriorated <br />sewer mains. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on June 25 and 28, 2004, and bids <br />were opened on July 22, 2004.
