NO. 03-009) <br /> <br />,~ <br />,'1.t <br />. <br /> <br />!24ir;;¿ <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Renew the contract with Nixon-Egli Equipment Company for street sweeper <br />parts and sweeper repairs, for a one -year period in an annual amount <br />not to exceed $45,000. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fleet Maintenance Division of the Finance and Management Services <br />Agency is responsible for the maintenance and repair of 11 street <br />sweepers. Sweeper parts are replaced in order to maintain sweeper <br />safety and effectiveness. An inventory of sweeper parts is maintained <br />at Fleet Maintenance for immediate availability. Repairs on street <br />sweepers are contracted out to manufacturer-authorized repair shops <br />based on the work schedule of Fleet Maintenance. <br /> <br />On February 18, 2003, the City Council awarded a contract to Nixon-Egli <br />Equipment Company for a one-year period, with provision for two one- <br />year renewals. Nixon-Egli Equipment Company has requested a minimum of <br />10 percent increase in pricing as a result of a 40 percent-plus <br />increase in the price of steel. The vendor has performed <br />satisfactorily during the past contract period and staff recommends the <br />final renewal of the contract. <br /> <br />22C-1 <br /> <br />CS. 383 <br />
