A -2003-273A <br />AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN <br />THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />AND <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />FOR THE PROVISION OF <br />GANG VIOLENCE SUPPRESSION OVERTIME SERVICES <br />THIS AGREEMENT, entered into thiszttx <br />I day of A'ip, (L- , 2006, which date is <br />enumerated for purposes of reference only, is by and between the COUNTY OF ORANGE, a <br />political subdivision of the State of California, hereinafter referred to as "COUNTY," and the <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, hereinafter referred to as "CITY." This Agreement shall be <br />administered by the County of Orange Chief Probation Officer, hereinafter referred to as <br />"ADMINISTRATOR." <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, on June 8, 2004, the parties entered into Agreement No. A-2003-273, <br />whereby the COUNTY provided Gang Violence Suppression (GVS) services, on a part time <br />basis, for a target population consisting of adults and minors on probation, residing within <br />CITY'S Weed & Seed Site FII geographical limits, for the period of January 1, 2004 through <br />December 31, 2004 under the terms of a grant from the Office of Justice Programs to CITY; <br />WHEREAS, on December 14, 2004, the Orange County Board of Supervisors approved <br />an amendment to said Agreement No. A-2003-273 extending its term for a nine-month period of <br />January 1, 2005 through September 30, 2005; <br />WHEREAS, the agreement expired on September 30, 2005, and was not renewed due to <br />pending confirmation of grant extension to CITY; <br />WHEREAS, on February 9, 2006, CITY advised ADMINISTRATOR that the Office of <br />Justice Programs had approved such extension of the grant award to June 30, 2006 in order to <br />expend the balance of unspent grant funding allocated to COUNTY, as of October 1, 2005; and <br />WHEREAS, CITY now wishes COUNTY to continue providing overtime GVS <br />services under a new agreement, effective retroactively from October 1, 2005 through June 30, <br />2006. <br />NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br />
