Approve an Appropriation Adjustment recognizing additional revenues <br />of $172,088 in Workforce Investment Act Rapid Response funds from <br />the State of California for Rapid Response activities. <br /> <br />2. Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager <br />and the Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with O'Reilly & <br />Associates in an amount not to exceed $50,000 to complete the second <br />phase of the Rapid Response Retention Study for the Santa Ana WORK <br />Center. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The State of California has recently announced the funding for the Rapid <br />Response program for Fiscal Year 2006-07. The total amount to be awarded <br />is $272,088. A planning figure of $100,000 was approved by the City <br />Council in the City's 2006-07 budget for Rapid Response. This <br />appropriation adjustment will increase the budget for Rapid Response to <br />the actual approved amount of $272,088. <br /> <br />On November 7, 2005, the Santa Ana WORK Center issued a Request for <br />Proposals to procure a rapid response retention study funded by the Rapid <br />Response Grant program. The role of Rapid Response is to assist workers <br />to quickly return to productive positions in the workforce and assist <br />employers to explore al ternati ves to staffing reductions through human <br />resource solutions.
