Amend the contract with Bound Tree Medical, LLC for paramedic supplies <br />in the amount of $24,300, for a total amount not to exceed $241,588. <br /> <br />2. Reject bids from Flotec, Inc. and Life-Assist, Inc. as nonresponsive. <br /> <br />3. Award contracts to Bound Tree Medical, LLC and Tri-Anim Health Services, <br />Inc. for the purchase of paramedic supplies for a three-year period with <br />provision for two one-year renewals in an annual amount not to exceed <br />$217,200. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The Fire Department's Paramedic Division provides emergency paramedic <br />services within the City of Santa Ana. Paramedic supplies are purchased <br />for such services, and patients are billed when services are rendered. The <br />Police Department Jail Facility also orders supplies such as latex gloves <br />for use during daily operations. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on November 14, 2007 and bids were <br />solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />16 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />4 Bids received <br /> <br />Bids were received and opened on December 3, 2007 (Exhibit 1). <br />Requirements and specifications were based on the Paramedic Division's <br />requirements and Orange County Emergency Medical Service standards. <br /> <br />22K-1 <br />
