NO. 09-022) <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2~d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Mundorff Graphics d/b/a Dakota Press for the printing <br />and mailing of the 2008 annual water quality report in an amount not to <br />exceed $28,250. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency's (PWA) Water Resources Division delivers fresh <br />water to the city through a system that includes 450 miles of pipeline and <br />21 groundwater production wells. In compliance with the Title 22 of the <br />California Code of Regulations, the City is required to mail an annual <br />Water Quality Report to all water customers. The report covers statistical <br />information, an explanation regarding where drinking water comes from, as <br />well as helpful tips on conservation. As was the case for the previous <br />report, PWA has developed a 12-month calendar for the 2008 Water Quality <br />Report. The calendar, beginning July 2009, will serve as a continual <br />reminder promoting water conservation, rebate programs, composting, fall <br />planting, adopt-a-park events, holiday and other recycling programs, Earth <br />Day, graffiti programs, and water education programs throughout a twelve <br />month period. <br />Bids were solicited and opened on April 15, 2009, and evaluated (Exhibit <br />1) A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />12 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />2 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />9 Bids received <br />The bid received from Mundorff Graphics d/b/a Dakota Press is responsive to <br />the specifications and meets the City's requirements.
