The applicant is requesting approval of Historic Exterior Modification <br />Application No 2010-01 for a room additi n to the rear of the existing <br />• structure, demolish the existing deteriorate one car garage as well as a <br />new two car detached garage to the rear of he lot for the property located <br />at 1449 South Cypress Avenue historically nown as the Gardiner House. <br />B. The property was built in 1923, and was pla ed on the Santa Ana Register <br />of Historical Properties as Contributive in 20 8. The property is also listed <br />on the California Register of Historical Reso rtes. <br />C. The Gardiner House has Craftsman Bungall~w styled architecture, and as <br />one of the first residences developed in the adison Park neighborhood. <br />D. Pursuant to Santa Ana Municipal Code sect on 30-6, the Historic <br />Resources Commission held a duly noticed ublic hearing on April 1, 2010 <br />for the request for exterior modifications oft a historic Gardiner House. <br />(Historic Exterior Modification Application N .2010-01). <br />E. Since the property is listed on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties, all exterior modifications or alterations are required to meet the <br />Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. <br />1.
