EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />ROH – 11/06/14 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014-17 <br /> <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2014-16 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />532 NORTH EASTSIDE AVENUE, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2014-02 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE KEY CATEGORY <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. On November 20, 2014, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2014-16) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2014-17) of the Prentice-Richardson House, located at <br />532 North Eastside Avenue, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Richardson House has distinctive architectural features of the <br />Craftsman style, front porch, clapboard cladding, and wood windows. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as Key because it “has a <br />distinctive architectural style and quality” as a very intact example of the <br />Craftsman style. <br />D. Character-defining features of the Richardson House that should be <br />preserved include, but may not be limited to, materials and finishes (wood <br />and stone); roof configuration and detailing; massing; original windows <br />and doors; porch; chimney; architectural details (attic vents, rafter tails, <br />corbels, porch posts, etc.); and garage. In addition, interior finishes and <br />features such as the Batchelder tile fireplace, wood built-ins, wood floors, <br />and wood moldings and casings should also be considered character- <br />defining. <br />E.
