EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017-13 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2017-10 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2340 NORTH RIVERSIDE DRIVE, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2017-09 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On September 28, 2017 the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2017-10) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2017-09) of the Dr. Harry G. Huffman House located at <br />2340 North Riverside Drive Santa Ana. <br />B. The Dr. Harry G. Huffman House has distinctive architectural features of <br />the English Revival style, and was built in 1926 by an unknown architect. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as "Contributive". The house <br />has been categorized as "Contributive" because it "is a good example of <br />period architecture" in its presentation of the English Revival style. All <br />original exterior features of the Dr. Harry G. Huffman House are <br />considered to be character defining and should be preserved. These <br />features include, but may not be limited to: materials and finishes (stucco, <br />brick); roof configuration topped by the steeply pitched gabled roof that is <br />a signature of the style, materials, and treatment; massing and <br />composition; entry; fenestration (doors and windows); and architectural <br />detailing (rolled eaves). The house displays a brick end chimney, and a <br />multitude of multilight fixed and casement windows that are rectangular, <br />round -arched, and segmental -arched. The house also contributes to the <br />historic character of the Floral Park neighborhood through its age, style, <br />scale, and historic association with important members of the local <br />business and social community. <br />D.
