EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2018-01 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS, AS <br />CONDITIONED, FOR THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2115 <br />NORTH MAIN STREET (HISTORIC EXTERIOR <br />MODIFICATION APPLICATION NO. 2017-01) <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. Net Development Company ("Applicant"), representing the Jahangiri Family <br />Trust, is requesting approval of Historic Exterior Modification Application <br />No. 2017-01 to allow exterior modifications to the structure. <br />B. The MacFarlane House is individually listed on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties as No. 122 and is categorized as Contributive. The <br />structure was build circa 1910 and is a Craftsman/Bungalow style. The <br />house features a cross -gable roof, braces with decorative round ends, <br />rafter tails, and barsgebflards with rounded ends,_ narrow lap and _square <br />butt shingle siding with wood windows and doors. <br />C. Pursuant to Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 3Q-6, no exterior physical <br />modifications, other than those identified by the Historic Resources <br />Commission for administrative approval by city staff, shall be permitted <br />with respect to an historic structure until the Historic Resources <br />Commission approves such request at a duly noticed public hearing and <br />issues a certificate of appropriateness. The Historic Resources <br />Commission shall issue the certificate of appropriateness upon finding that <br />the proposed modification(s) does not substantially change the character <br />and integrity of the historic property. <br />D. The exterior modifications proposed are to allow for the structure to be <br />used as an eating establishment associated with a commercial <br />development project. In particular, the key exterior improvements include: <br />North Elevation: Removal of the non -original staircase and sealing <br />the second floor door in place from the interior.
