ORDINANCE NO. NS-1250 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A <br />GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, ON THE 1ST DAY OF APRIL, <br />1975 FOR THE ELECTION OF FOUR MEMBERS OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL, GIVING NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION, <br />HOURS DURING WHICH THE POLLS SHALL BE OPEN, <br />AND AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION OFFICERS <br />TO SERVE AT SAID ELECTION <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION l: That a general Municipal Election is hereby <br />called to be held in the City of Santa Ana, California, on <br />April 1, 1975. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2: That there shall be 96 voting precincts, <br />several of which are single State and County precincts renumbered <br />for said Election and the rest of which consist of consolidations <br />of State and County precincts, all consisting of territory <br />within the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3: That the Precinct Board of each precinct <br />shall consist of one Inspector, one Judge, and two Clerks; <br />and that said Precinct Officers shall receive the following <br />compensation for their services: Inspectors, $2.25 per hour, <br />Judges and Clerks, $2.00 per hour and owners of privately <br />owned polling places shall receive the sum of $15.00 for the <br />use of each polling place. <br /> <br /> That the consolidated voting precincts, the polling places <br />thereof, and the Precinct Board for each such precinct shall <br />be as set out on that certain document headed "ELECTION OFFICERS <br />AND POLLING PLACES" on file in the office of the Clerk of <br />the Council, and the Boards of each such voting precinct are <br />hereby appointed. The Clerk of the Council is hereby authorized <br />to find and appoint substitutes for any election officer hereby <br />appointed who is unable or unwilling to act. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4: That said Election shall be held and conducted <br />in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City <br />of Santa Ana, the Constitution of the State of California, <br />and the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of Califor- <br />nia insofar as the same may be applicable thereto. On the <br />day of the Election the polls shall be opened at 7:00 AoM. <br />and shall be kept open until 8:00 P.Mo, at which time the <br />polls shall be closed° The Clerk of the Council shall prepare <br />and cause to be published a NOTICE OF ELECTION for one time; <br />a list of names of the nominees in the order in which they <br />will appear on the Ballot and the respective offices for which <br />they are nominated once a week for two successive weeks, with <br />at least 5 intervening days between the dates of publication; <br />and a notice of election officers and polling places for one <br />time. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5: The Clerk of the Council shall prepare and <br />cause to be printed official ballots and election supplies <br />necessary for the holding of said Election as required by <br />law, and sample ballots and polling place cards, and shall <br />provide for the mailing of the same to each registered elector <br />within the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
