LS 10.31.16 <br />ORDINANCE NO. NS -2907 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA REPLACING THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ZONING <br />SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAPS INTO A NEW GRAPHIC FORMAT <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby find, determine <br />and declare as follows: <br />A. Amendment Application No. 2016-04 has been filed with the City of Santa Ana <br />to formally remove and replace the City of Santa Ana Zoning Sectional District <br />Maps (SDM) into a new graphic format. <br />B. Amendment Application No. 2016-04 proposes to merely modify and reformat <br />the map legend and page layout of the Sectional District Maps. The replacement <br />Sectional District Maps do not include any changes to zoning boundaries or <br />designations for individual properties; no changes in zoning are being made with <br />this action. <br />C. The new SDM page layout will facilitate the efficient production of zoning maps <br />through the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) technology. Additionally, <br />the SDM legend has been modified to more accurately reflect the zoning districts <br />and related designations. <br />D. The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana held a duly noticed public <br />hearing on November 14, 2016, on Amendment Application No. 2016-04 and <br />recommended that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Amendment <br />Application No. 2016-04. <br />E. The City Council, prior to taking action on this ordinance, held a duly noticed <br />public hearing on December 6, 2016. <br />F. The City Council also adopts as findings all facts presented in the Request for <br />Council Action dated December 6, 2016 accompanying this matter. <br />G. For these reasons, and each of them, Amendment Application No. 2016-04 is <br />hereby found and determined to be justified by public necessity, convenience, and <br />general welfare. <br />Section 2. In accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) <br />and the State CEQA Guidelines, the proposed project is exempt from further review <br />Ordinance No. NS -2907 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
