The long-term performance of exterior <br />concrete flatwork at the site will be <br />influenced by any expansive soils. <br />Positive drainage and maintaining soil <br />moisture at above optimum conditions <br />prior to pouring concrete will help <br />improve the performance of concrete <br />flatwork at the site. <br />b.Concrete flatwork should be divided into <br />as nearly square panels as possible. <br />Frequent joints should be provided to <br />give articulation to the concrete panels. <br />Landscaping and planters adjacent to <br />concrete flatwork should be designed in <br />such a manner as to direct drainage away <br />from concrete areas to approved outlets. <br />C.It is assumed that flatwork will be sub- <br />jected only to pedestrian traffic. <br />-- <br />- <br />I-'
