JuIy 8, 1983 <br />To: owners of Unreinforced Masonry Buildings <br />Regarding the building located at 719 North Main Street, <br />Santa Ana, and described as Orange County Assessorr s Parcel <br />Numbe r 398-231-01 <br />Seismic Safety Ordinance Added To Munici aI Code <br />On February 19, 1980, the City Council of the City of Santa <br />Ana adopted ordinance No. NS-1518. This Ordinance, entitled <br />"Earthquake Hazard Reduction in Existing BuiIdings", added <br />Article XI, consisting of Sections 8-2000 to 8-2007, to <br />Chapter 8 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code. on September 8, <br />I98I, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. NS-I598, which <br />amended Article XI of Chapter I of the Municipal Code by <br />amending Sections 8-2002, 8-2004, 8-2005 and 8-2006, and by <br />adding Section 2004.5 thereto. on March 14, I983, the city <br />council adopted ordinance No. NS-1573, which amended Article <br />xI of Chapter I of the Municipal Code by amending Sections <br />8-2003, 8-2006 and 8-2007, and by adding Sections 8-2003.1, <br />8-2003.5 and 8-2004.1 thereto. <br />Determination of Ri sk <br />In August I980, a field engineering survey and review <br />conducted by the City determined that the subject building <br />is of a design and type of unreinforced masonry construction, <br />containing walls with less than the required reinforcement, <br />which falls within the scope of the Seismic Safety Ordinance. <br />That survey also determined that the building is class II- <br />high risk structure pursuant to the ordinance. <br />Notice sent To The Leg al otrner <br />According to the Cityrs <br />to the building's legal <br />April 23, 1981. <br />an initial Notice was sent <br />record John R.
