Project No. D-3885-06
Christ Our Savior Catholic Parish
Groundwater levels may fluctuate due to the seasonal influence and other reasons and
historically highest groundwater is reported to be about 5 feet below the ground surface.
Laboratory Test Results
A. Moisture Density (ASTM D-2937 & D-2216)
In-Place density and moisture content values were determined at the laboratory and test
results are shown on boring logs, Plates I-la through I-7 (Appendix B).
B. Mechanical Analysis (ASTM D-422)
Mechanical analysis by the hydrometer test method was performed to confirm field
classifications. Test results are as follows:
Test Hole
No.
Sample
Depth (ft)
Sand
Percent
Silt
Percent
Clay
Percent
B-l t-2 68 t'7 l5
B-2 t-2 65 l5 20
B-5 l5 l5 28 57
B-6 1-2 43 20 31
B-7 t-2 36 25 39
C. Direct Shear (ASTM D-3080)
D. Consolidation (ASTM D-2435)
Consolidation (load deformation) tests were performed on selected undisturbed samples.
l1
I
I
I
I
Direct shear tests were performed on selected typical soil samples under various normal
loads. Tests were performed under the saturated-drained conditions.
