Project No. D-3885-06
Christ Our Savior Catholic Parish
Grouting shall be sequenced so that grouting does not take place within l5 feet of
locations grouted in past 24 hours.
a
Quality Control
Quality control should be performed by the Site Superintendent ensuring that all
production data is present in the compaction grout logs and is in accordance with the
drawings. These logs were reviewed by Project Manager on a daily basis and provided to
the Engineer from General Contractor and also to our representative on daily basis. The
date of drilling and date of grouting for each Primary Holes should be tabulated in Table
and the detail daily grout logs should be presented, under supervision of Geotechnical
Engineer of Record.
Compaction of Upper Layer:
After compaction grouting is complete, the surficial subgrade soils should be over-
excavated and re-compacted to minimum 93 percent of ASTM D-1557, 3-feet below
bottom of mat footing.
Verification Testing (Cone Penetration Test or Hollow Stem Auger Drilling)
We propose to perfonn two cone penetration (CPT) soundings after the grouting to veriry
and check whether ground has been stabilized and the static settlernent as well as
liquefaction settlement are calculated to verifr that the settlements are drastically reduced.
Alternatively, hollow stem auger may be used to drill and get undisturbed sample to
verifu and document the increase in blow counts as well as the increased density and
calculate the new compression Index, Cc and other consolidation parameters to verift the
reduction in settlements.
3l
n
E
E
u
f
u
I
!
n
I
T
E
E
T
E
T
f
t-l
E
r Primary holes are grouted first followed by secondary holes, if necessary.
e Final Grouting Design should be reviewed by this office.
