Generally, fill soils <br />should be placed in uniform horizontal lifts not exceeding 8-inches in loose <br />thickness. Placement and compaction of fill should be performed in general <br />conformance with geotechnical recommendations and local ordinances. <br />10.2.8 Transition Pad Condition <br />Based on site elevations and materials present, there is no anticipated transition <br />condition. Based on all excavation recommendations, it is anticipated that all <br />footings will be founded on properly compacted materials. If deep foundations <br />are proposed, additional earthwork recommendations will be provided. <br />10.3 Foundation Design <br />Foundation and slabs should be designed in accordance with structural considerations and <br />the following recommendations. These recommendations assume that the soils exposed <br />at the finished pad grade will have a low potential for expansion as anticipated. <br />10.3.1 Footines <br />The proposed building may be supported by continuous and spread footings <br />founded at a minimum depth of 24 inches below the lowest adjacent subgrade. <br />Continuous footings should have a minimum width of 15 inches and be reinforced <br />with at least four No. 5 reinforcing bars, 2 top and 2 bottom. Isolated interior <br />footings should have a minimum width of 24 inches and be founded at a <br />minimum depth ol 24 inches belou, the lowest adjacent subgrade.
