support@rvrengineering.com
SEPTEMBER 06, 2024
Attn: RNRR
CA- CA-City Of SANTA ANA RE:
Project Name: Haverstick, Chiaki
Project Address: 2050 W Martha Ln, Santa Ana, CA 92706.
To whom it may concern:
Thank you for reviewing and providing feedback on this project. The following is our
response to the comments provided by the plan review, the numbers below correspond with
the comment numbers provided in the city comment list:
COMMENTS:
1.Comment: There can only be ONE power source attached to the main bus per the
120% rule CEC 705.12(B)(3)(2). Combine the backfeed sources together in a
separate panel with their own OCPD breakers.
Response: We've revised the mentioned connection, combined the existing and new solar
using a load center, and fed them to the enphase controller. Refer to E-1.0 for details.
2.Comment: What are the conductors and the conduit schedule for these relocated
loads? Be sure to account for ampacity reduction due to number of current carrying
conductors (CEC 310.15(C) (1) and allow for required AFCI breakers if the length of the
conduit exceeds 6 feet. CEC 210.12(D).
Response We've shown the size of conductors and conduits used for the critical load
panel on E-1.1 and the distance between the IQ system controller,MSP and the critical
load panel will be approximately 1 feet which is less than 6 feet. Distance and conduit
length are mentioned in the line diagram & Equipment elevation view on pages E-1.0 &
E-1.5.
3.Comment: The existing PV back feed must be integrated with the new PV system. It
cannot be located on the main panel along with the 100A IQ backfeed breaker (which is
to be current limited to 70 total backfeed).
Response: We've shown the correct PV backfeed value in the SLD. Refer to E-1.0
If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our office.
RAMASAMY R
Design Engineer
2050 W Martha Ln
9/16/2024
