WILBUR ROAD, STE 103 • THOUSAND OAKS, CA 91360 ENGR.:JRV
Santa Ana, CA 805.496.2100 • VinciSE.com
CLIENT:Baker Home Energy
CHECK OF EXISTING ROOF STRUCTURE
Existing Roof Dead Load 14.5 psf
Existing Roof Live Load:20 psf reducable
PV Array Dead Load 2.8 psf
Per 2022 California Building Code Section 1607.12.5.1
when a PV array is installed less than 24" above the surface of the roof
surface, the live load can be ignored below the PV array.
Therefore - if the 20 psf (12psf min when reduced) is eliminated below
the proposed PV Arrays, the roof is more than capable of supporting
the additional 2.80 psf dead load due to the proposed array.
Therefore, by observation, the existing roof structure is sufficient.
7/18/2024 214 W Alton Ave
10/8/2024
