<br />9. REFER TO STRUCTURAL, MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, AND ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS FOR
<br />EQUIPMENT ANCHORAGE, HVAC, PLUMBING, LIGHTING, COMMUNICATION, DATA AND
<br />POWER REQUIREMENTS.
<br />10. THE DESIGN, ADEQUACY AND SAFETY OF ERECTION, BRACING, SHORING, TEMPORARY
<br />SUPPORTS, ETC., IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. THE CONTRACTOR
<br />SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STABILITY OF THE STRUCTURE AND PROVIDE NECESSARY

<br />TO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS IN ANY FORM AT THE PROJECT SITE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED
<br />TO ASBESTOS, ASBESTOS PRODUCTS, POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYL (PCB) OR OTHER TOXIC
<br />SUBSTANCES.
<br />12. IF THE CONTRACTOR ASCERTAINS AT ANY TIME THAT REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONTRACT
<br />DOCUMENTS CONFLICT WITH, OR ARE IN VIOLATION OF APPLICABLE LAWS, CODES,
<br />REGULATIONS AND ORDINANCES, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT PROCEED WITH WORK IN
<br />QUESTION, EXCEPT AT THE CONTRACTOR'S OWN RISK, UNTIL THE ARCHITECT HAS BEEN

<br />CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY
<br />1. CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE OWNER 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ANY RESTRICTION OF
<br />OWNER ACCESS OR UTILITY OUTAGES. AUTHORIZATION FROM OWNER TO BE RECEIVED IN
<br />WRITING.
<br />2. IN THE EVENT THE UTILITY SERVICE IS INTERRUPTED WITHOUT THE REQUIRED 48 HOURS
<br />NOTICE, THEN THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE FINANCIALLY LIABLE FOR ALL DAMAGES SUFFERED
<br />BY THE OWNER DUE TO THE UNAUTHORIZED INTERRUPTION. RECONNECTION SHALL BE MADE
<br />IMMEDIATELY.
<br />3. CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE TO AS TO FAMILIARIZE WITH EXISTING CONDITIONS
<br />AND SATISFY THEMSELVES TO THE NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE WORK. SUBMISSIONS OF
<br />PROPOSALS SHALL BE CONSTRUED AS EVIDENCE THAT SUCH EXAMINATION HAS BEEN MADE
<br />AND LATER CLAIMS FOR LABOR, EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALS REQUIRED, OR FOR DIFFICULTIES

<br />4. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS AND CONDITIONS PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK.
<br />AT ANY TIME SHOULD CONDITIONS ARISE WHEREIN THE INTENT OF THE DRAWINGS IS IN DOUBT

<br />SAFETY OF ALL PARTIES PRESENT ON THE JOB SITE IS SOLELY THE CONTRACTOR'S

<br />6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL HAVE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND CHARGE OF AND SHALL BE
<br />RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES OR
<br />PROCEDURES, FOR SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROGRAMS IN CONNECTION WITH THE WORK,
<br />FOR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF THE CONTRACTOR, SUBCONTRACTOR OR ANY OTHER
<br />PERSONS PERFORMING ANY WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.
<br />7. PROVIDE CONTINUOUS INSPECTION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE BUILDING CODE FOR
<br />REINFORCED CONCRETE. PLACEMENT OF REINFORCING STEEL, STRUCTURAL STEEL,
<br />WELDING, STRUCTURAL MASONRY, FIELD WELDING AND HIGH STRENGTH BOLTS.
<br />8. CONTRACTOR TO SCHEDULE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES TO HAVE THE LEAST IMPACT ON
<br />EXISTING FUNCTIONS, CONTAIN ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE USE OF JACKHAMMERS SHALL BE
<br />SCHEDULED AT SPECIAL TIMES. CONTACT THE DESIGNATED NOISE DISTURBANCE
<br />COORDINATOR FOR SCHEDULING OF ALL ACTIVITIES.
<br />9. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTION OF EXISTING HVAC FILTERS WITHIN
<br />AREAOF WORK.
<br />10. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROTECTION OF AND WHERE REQUIRED BY THE
<br />FIRE MARSHAL, THE OPERATIONAL MAINTENANCE OF FIRE LIFE SAFETY DEVICES WITHIN
<br />THE AREA OF WORK.
<br />EXISTING CONDITIONS
<br />1. U.N.O. SURFACES ADJOINING AREAS OF DEMOLITIONS AND/OR NEW WORK SHALL BE
<br />PATCHED AND REFINISHED AS REQUIRED TO MATCH ADJACENT SURFACES IN ALL ASPECTS,
<br />INCLUDING FINISH MATERIAL, COLOR, TEXTURE, FIRE RATING AND SUBSTRATE.
<br />2. PATCH SURFACES WHERE AFFECTED BY INSTALLATION OF NEW MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL
<br />AND STRUCTURAL ITEMS. MATCH EXISTING ADJACENT SURFACES AND FINISHES EXCEPT
<br />WHERE OTHERWISE NOTED OR INDICATED.
<br />3. WHERE NEW WALL OR CEILING CONTINUES EXISTING WALL OR CEILING, ALIGN VISIBLE NEW
<br />SURFACE WITH EXISTING. ADJUST AND STAGGER STUDS IF REQUIRED TO ALIGN STUDS IF
<br />REQUIRED TO ALIGN FACE OF WALLS.
<br />4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUPERVISE ALL CUTTING, PATCHING, REPAIRING, RESTORING, AND
<br />ANY NECESSARY ACTION TO COMPLETE THE WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE
<br />AND MATCH ANY DAMAGED WORK TO THE ORIGINAL CONDITION TO THE ARCHITECT'S
<br />SATISFACTION.
<br />5. EXISTING CONDITIONS AND OPERATIONS SHALL BE DOCUMENTED PRIOR TO INITIATION OF
<br />RENOVATION AND/ OR NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS. THIS SHALL INCLUDE
<br />DOCUMENTATION OF EXISTING MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL/ STRUCTURAL CAPACITIES AND
<br />QUANTITIES. DOCUMENTATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
<br />A. FIRE SUPPRESSION, DETECTION, AND ALARM SYSTEMS
<br />B. VARIOUS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS (INCLUDING TELEPHONE, NURSE CALL,
<br /> OVERHEAD PAGING, TELEMETRY, DICTATION, ELECTRONIC IMAGING)
<br /> VARIOUS PLUMBING SYSTEMS (INCLUDING DOMESTIC WATER, TREATED WATER,
<br /> WASTEWATER, PNEUMATIC TUBE, PNEUMATIC CONTROLS, MEDICAL GASES/
<br /> VACUUM)
<br />C. EXISTING AIRFLOW OF AFFECTED AREAS

<br />DEMOLITION
<br />1. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THE LOCATION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES PRIOR TO
<br />COMMENCING CONSTRUCTION AND SHALL TAKE STEPS TO PROTECT SUBJECT UTILITIES,
<br />PERSONNEL AND PROPERTY AGAINST DAMAGE OR INJURY.
<br />2. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY LOCATION OF ALL REINFORCING STEEL AND CONDUIT IN
<br />EXISTING CONCRETE SLABS AND AVOID SAME. CONTRACTOR SHALL PREPARE SHOP
<br />DRAWINGS FOR REVIEW BY THE ARCHITECT AND/OR SEOR PRIOR TO PROCEEDING WITH
<br />CORE OR SAW-CUTTING.
<br />3. ALL REMOVED FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT, ACCESSORIES AND DOORS SHALL BE SALVAGED TO
<br />THE OWNER. ITEMS NOT WANTED BY OWNER SHALL BE DISCARDED OFF-SITE BY THE
<br />CONTRACTOR.
<br />4. TEMPORARY STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PROTECTED FROM VANDALISM. STORE IN
<br />A LOCATION THAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO THE OWNER.
<br />5. PROTECT ALL ADJACENT AREAS FROM DUST, FUMES, SMOKE, WATER, WEATHER AND
<br />NOISE.
<br />6. PROTECT ALL ADJACENT BUILDING COMPONENTS - FINISHES AND EQUIPMENT. SHOULD
<br />DAMAGE OCCUR, REPAINT, PATCH OR REPLACE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
<br />7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTINUOUS CLEAN UP OF THE SITE OF
<br />ALL DEBRIS WHETHER CREATED BY THE CONTRACTOR'S WORK OR THE FAILURE OF THE
<br />CONTRACTOR'S SUB-CONTRACTORS TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR WORK.
<br />8. ALL ABANDONED PLUMBING LINES, ELECTRICAL CONDUIT OR BOXES, A/C DUCTS OR
<br />DIFFUSERS AND TELEPHONE CABLES WILL BE REMOVED BACK TO CLOSEST FEEDER POINT.
<br />9. DO NOT CUT, DRILL, NOTCH, CORE, ALTER, OR DAMAGE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS OR FRAMING
<br />UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DETAILED ON APPROVED PLANS OR ACCEPTED BY THE SEOR/AOR.
<br />FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY MEASURES
